Reasons not to quit your job:

Emergency personnel

The world is a dangerous place, but we thank you for being there in times of crisis. We can't imagine the chaos that would results from a massive termination of doctors, nurses, firefighters and other emergency response personnel, so we ask, in the interest of safety, that you not participate in Quit Your Job Day.

The business owner

No matter how hard we thought about it, we couldn't come up with a rational reason the self employed would benefit from quitting their own jobs. Unless you don't like what you do, in which case see the appropriate section in "Reasons to quit your job", we can't in good conscience tell you to quit. We will offer you some advice, however. If you have them, some of your employees are going to be leaving their positions... soon. We suggest you offer them raises on the spot.

Those under legal contract

If you are not working at will and instead are under legal contract, we advise you to seek professional legal counsel before attempting to quit your job. We are not lawyers. Don't listen to anything we say... except about the part where we tell you to go talk to a lawyer.

Recently fired or laid-off

Having no job is no excuse for not quitting. Head over to the "How to quit my job" section and follow one of the possible scenarios there at your previous employer. They might find it odd that you are quitting a job that you were already terminated from, but trust us when we say that it will be extremely satisfying.

Already doing what you love

Who could advocate not doing what you love. If you are already doing what you love, don't stop. This is what we're trying to get everyone else to do.
